Video: Flugtag proves ‘chickens’ can indeed fly

California flight shatters previous Flugtag world record set in Germany by 29 feet

The day was won by the The Chicken Whisperers, a team of aerospace and mechanical engineers from Palo Alto, California, who proved that chickens can indeed fly, soaring a staggering 258 feet (81.68 Meters) and shattering the old world record by 12 ft

Chickens apparently can indeed fly, and don’t have to set foot back on land for an amazing 81 metres.

That's according to the US National Red Bull Flugtag, who hosted the latest episode of the home-made flying machine competition in five US cities.

The "chicken" flew at Long Beach, California, shattering a previous Flugtag world record set in Germany in 2012 by 29 feet.

The Chicken Whisperers are a team of aerospace and mechanical engineers from Palo Alto, a fact which may have helped them just a little with their feat.
