Arsenio Hall to sue Sinead O’Connor over Prince comments

$5 million defamation suit follows a Facebook post by Irish singer

Sinead O’Connor is being sued for up to $5 million (€4.4 million) by US comedian and talk show host Arsenio Hall after she made claims about him in the wake of Prince’s death.

According to reports in the US, the defamation suit follows a Facebook post by the Irish singer.

Legal papers were filed in Los Angeles on Thursday, according to CNN.

“Desperate, attention seeker Sinead O’Connor has maliciously published outlandish defamatory lies about comedian Arsenio Hall” the lawsuit sets out.

O'Connor, who could not be reached for comment in response to the reports, reportedly wrote in a since deleted post: "Arsenio I've reported you to the Carver County Sheriff's office. Expect their call.

“You best get tidying your man cave.”
