Man of Irish descent missing for 10 days in Portugal

The family of an elderly British man of Irish descent who went missing 10 days ago while on a pilgrimage to Fatima, Portugal have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

John Joyce (72), whose parents were from Mayo, travelled from London on July 11th with a church group on a six-day pilgrimage to the Portuguese site.

On the morning of July 14th Mr Joyce disappeared from outside the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary at around 11am.

He is described as 5ft 6ins tall and of large build. His hair is crew cut and balding and he is missing a lower denture. It is believed he was wearing black mid-calf shorts, a T-shirt and black sandals.
