A new permanent exit from the M50 southbound at the Red Cow interchange will be open from this morning, bringing to an end a three-week diversion at the junction.

The new off-ramp will bring motorists travelling south on the M50 off the motorway at the Red Cow interchange and on to the N7 Naas road.

Major traffic diversions were put in place at the interchange three weeks ago with the closure of the southbound exit from the M50 at the Red Cow for traffic heading west to the N7 road towards Kildare.

This traffic was diverted farther south to the Ballymount interchange, from where it headed back along the northbound carriageway to the N7 access ramp. The new off-ramp brings this diversion to an end. The final permanent layout at Ballymount junction is scheduled to be in place at the end of the month.
