On this week's Inside Politics podcast, Sarah Bardon, Fiach Kelly and Hugh Linehan discuss the increased likelihood of a general election in the short-term, following comments by Fianna Fáil's Barry Cowen that suggested that his party was unlikely to renew its confidence-and-supply arrangement with Fine Gael.

They look at whether Mr Cowen's remarks are an indication of a wider sense of frustration among the Fianna Fáil ranks, and what could be causing tensions within the party.

Also on the podcast, our panel discusses the question: just who will contest the presidential election? They also examine the potential impact of the alleged data breach at Independent News & Media (INM) on Irish journalism.
