Labour Senator Jimmy Harte, who suffered significant head injuries in a fall in Dublin last year, is continuing to make progress, according to his family.

Mr Harte, from Donegal, was transferred to the National Rehabilitation Clinic in Dún Laoghaire in recent weeks. "The family is happy that his progress is ongoing," a spokesman for the Harte family said.

He was found unconscious at Newmarket Square early on November 16th, 2013. He had watched a Republic of Ireland match at the Aviva Stadium and was going home after socialising with family and friends.

Mr Harte is a married father of four who worked as an insurance broker.
