Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said no decisions have been made by Government about exactly where in the country refugees will be housed.

His comments came after Aodhán Ó Ríordáin, Minister of State at the Department of Justice, said refugees should not be placed in Dublin because of the housing crisis in the capital.

“A multi-departmental task force are looking at this now. We have to have a plan and a strategy clear. No decision has been made about that,” Mr Kenny said.

“Decisions we have made are for the 600 in respect of last July and the 4,000 that the Government signed off on last week.

“There’s a whole range of logistics to be put in place and all of those matters will be dealt with in due course.”

Mr Kenny was speaking on the way into Cabinet on Wednesday morning.
