Gardai in Wexford are investigating a serious assault on a man in his early thirties in the town of New Ross in the early hours of this morning.
The incident took place at 1 a.m. on Mary Street.
The man, understood to be from Sweden, was taken to Wexford General Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The scene has been preserved for technical examination and Gardaí in Wexford are investigating.
