Woman killed after car hits bus in Co Donegal

A woman has died after the car she was driving collided with a bus between Donegal nad Derry this afternoon.

The crash happened at about 3.30pm on the N13 between Letterkenny and Newtowncunningham, a Garda spokesman said.

The woman, who was in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was removed to Letterkenny General Hospital for a postmortem.

Three children travelling in the car at the time were taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry. The driver of the bus was uninjured.

The road was closed to traffic and Garda forensic collision investigators were examining the scene.
