Woman dies after being hit by vehicle following fall from bus in Donegal

A woman in her 20s has died after falling from a moving bus and being struck by a passing vehicle.

Gardaí in Donegal town are investigating the fatality, which occurred at Ardnawark, Barnesmore Gap, at about 3.45pm on Friday.

The female passenger suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, where she died later on Friday evening. A postmortem is due to take place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. Road users travelling in the area who may have dash-cam footage are also asked to make contact.

The road was closed on Friday night for Garda forensic collision investigators to conduct an examination of the scene on Saturday morning. Diversions were put in place.
