A "virtual run" fundraiser organised to commemorate Ashling Murphy had generated close to €20,000 for a charity as of Friday morning.
People are being asked to complete a 5km walk or run at 4pm this Sunday in memory of the late teacher.
The gofundme appeal had raised more than €19,500 for Women's Aid, which supports women and children experiencing domestic violence.
Ms Murphy (23) was fatally attacked while out running on the Grand Canal near Cappincur, Tullamore, in Co Offaly more than a week ago.
She was a teacher at Durrow National School and a talented musician and camogie player. She was remembered as a kind, talented, admired and loved young woman at her funeral Mass earlier this week.
Thousands of people gathered for vigils across Ireland and the world to remember Ms Murphy last weekend, with events taking place in London, Edinburgh, New York, Dubai and Brisbane.
A man was remanded in custody charged with her murder on Wednesday.
