Truck driver dies after crash involving tractor in Waterford

Sole occupant of HGV (early 60s) pronounced dead at scene of incident on N25 on Monday

A man has died after the truck he was driving was involved in a crash with a tractor on Monday in Co Waterford.

The crash occurred at about 3pm on the N25 Waterford bypass. Gardaí said the driver of a HGV, aged in his early 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The driver of the tractor, a 25-year-old man, was taken to University Hospital Waterford with non life-threatening injuries.

Garda forensic investigators examined the scene and the local coroner was notified.
