The search for a man who went missing in the sea off the coast of Wicklow will resume on Wednesday afternoon.

The man in his 40s was reported missing at Wicklow harbour on Tuesday morning.

Gardaí asked the coast guard to become involved in the search at about 10.20am and two RNLI lifeboats and a Dublin Coast Guard helicopter were mobilised.

However, the search was called off shortly after 3.15pm due to poor visibility and will resume at noon on Wednesday.
