A single swan caused significant traffic disruption in Dublin this morning when he parked himself down on a busy ramp off the M50 at rush-hour and refused to move.

The swan sat down on the off-ramp of the M50 at Junction 6 from the N3 and delayed traffic for an hour and a quarter between 8.30am and 9.45am.

The gardaí declined to move the swan and diverted traffic around the swan who positioned himself near the end of the ramp causing delays in the area.

Gardaí called in the Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA) who moved the swan and traffic is flowing freely again.
