Man dies in single-vehicle crash in Co Meath

A man in his 40s has died following a single-car crash in the early hours of Monday morning in Trim, Co Meath.

The man was the driver of the car which hit a wall on Patrick Street at 1.55am. He was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown where he subsequently died.

The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission has been notified of the incident as the car involved in this crash had come to the attention of gardaí prior to the incident.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conducted a technical examination of the scene.

Gardaí in Trim are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.

Investigating officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area between 1.30am and 2.00am on Monday morning, including those with camera footage to come forward.
