Man (25) dies following stabbing incident in Tallaght

Gardaí seek witnesses and say another man, aged in his 40s, being treated in hospital

A 25-year-old man has died following a stabbing in Tallaght, Dublin.

Gardaí are investigating the incident which happened on Tuesday at around 7.15pm on Mac Uilliam Road.

The man was seriously injured when gardaí arrived at the scene and was taken for treatment to Tallaght University Hospital, where he later died. It is understood that he was stabbed in the neck during a row and lost a significant amount of blood.

A Garda spokesman said a second man, aged in his 40s, was also injured during the incident. He was brought to the same hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were not life threatening.

“The scene is currently preserved and the State Pathologist has been notified,” the spokesman said.

A postmortem is to be carried out on the deceased on Wednesday.
