Bakery Johnston, Mooney & O’Brien has recalled all its sliced bread with a best before date of February 11th because of a risk it might contain small pieces of metal.

The company took the precaution when it discovered that a piece of an industrial sieve was missing on Wednesday night.

It apologised for its actions stating that a withdrawal was the “most appropriate course of action, however slight the risk might be to the consumer”.

No bun or roll products are affected by the recall.
