Gardaí were called to Clontarf Castle in Dublin last night where a recording of TV3's People's Debate with Vincent Browne was taking place.
A manager at the hotel called the gardaí over fears about a protest by those opposed to water charges.
A Garda spokesman said the protest was very minor and there were no incidents or arrests to report.
Just out of @vincentbrowne #vinb debate circus. Others can tell you what happened. Nasty stuff.
Delighted with Ireland result though.

However a Labour Party TD described the scene at Clontarf Castle as a "circus" and said it was "nasty stuff".
In a tweet last night, Minister of State Áodhan O Riordáin said: Just out of @vincentbrowne #vinb debate circus. Others can tell you what happened. Nasty stuff. Delighted with Ireland result though.
A woman in the audience said she was being intimidated by someone sitting beside her after she applauded something Mr O Riordáin said. She alleged the person said he had taken a photograph of her and would “get her outside”.
It is understood the recording stopped at this point and resumed shortly afterwards.
The programme is due to be broadcast on Wednesday evening.
