The man’s body was removed to Cork University Hospital for a post mortem examination which is due to take place this morning to establish the exact cause of death in the accident.

No one on the bus was injured but the road was closed and diversions put in place to allow forensic investigators carry out an examination of the scene.

Gardaí have not named the man as not all next of kin have been notified, but they have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Kinsale Garda Station on 021-4779250.
