Family forced to flee home during Louth fire

A family was forced to flee from their home in Dundalk, Co Louth after a fire broke out in a derelict house next door.

The blaze started in a vacant house on Doolargy Avenue at about 7pm on Friday night and continued until about 11pm.

The family lived in one of two adjoining houses affected by the fire.

No one was injured in the incident. The two neighbouring houses experienced smoke damage.

Gardaí have begun an investigation into the blaze and appeal for anyone with any information to get in touch with their local Garda station.
