New UFC featherweight world title holder Conor McGregor is to be given a civic reception by the Lord Mayor of Dublin.
The reception honours McGregor's victory in UFC 194 on December 12th in Las Vegas.
McGregor, who is from Crumlin in south Dublin, defeated reigning champion José Aldo in 13 seconds in what was the fastest championship victory in UFC history.
Lord Mayor Críona Ní Dhálaigh said discussions have been held with McGregor’s team and it was agreed to hold the reception in City Hall towards the end of January.
