Chris Donoghue to leave UTV Ireland Live

Donoghue (31) was unveiled a year ago as ‘one of the most exciting’ presenters for the station

UTV Ireland and Newstalk FM’s Chris Donoghue is reported to have left the UTV Ireland Live current affairs show, citing pressure of work.

Mr Donoghue (31) who co-hosts the Newstalk FM morning radio programme with Ivan Yates was unveiled just a year ago as a presenter of Ireland Live which he co-anchored with Alison Comyn.

At the time of his appointment Mary Curtis, head of channel at UTV Ireland said Mr Donoghue was one of “the most exciting and talented broadcasters in Ireland today”.

The schedule saw Mr Donoghue working early mornings at Newstalk and late nights at UTV Ireland, and it is understood that after a year, he found the workload onerous.
