HOME for Christmas and getting all festive in Trinity's dining hall was an interesting mix of graduates swapping ex-pat tales over copious amounts of mince pies and mulled wine. Howth-man Kevin Smith was there, home from Boston University with his attractive fiancee Rosina Georgiondis. They met up with Kevin's brother Brendan who is back from Bristol University. Ciaran and Deirdre Murtagh arrived from Los Angeles, and Bernie Burke, who is involved in the New York branch of the Trinity Foundation, was there with enviable tales of skiing in Upstate New York. Lawyer Sean Terry was home from Oxford and Liz Manning made the same trip - she's doing a post-grad in Oxford.
Terese Tuohy flew in from Cincinnati and John Atkins arrived from Utah and brought a group of earnest and exotic partygoers including Patrizia Carnemolla and Shahla Thompson. For Jerram Burrows, the evening was a double celebration - the redoubtable Canon was celebrating his 86th birthday.
