Autumn has arrived but warm weather is here to stay a little longer with temperatures expected to reach up to 23 degrees in places today.

There will be afternoon highs of 17 to 20 degrees, reaching up to 22 or 23 degrees where sunny breaks develop, Met Éireann says.

While the day will be dry at first, rain in the west will turn persistent there during the morning and move eastward later this afternoon and evening, but becoming more scattered.
