Health and Safety Authority investigating death of 27-year-old in Dublin this morning

A 27-year-old woman was killed today when the forklift truck she was driving overturned. The incident occurred at a unit in the Ward Industrial Park, North Road, Finglas at about 9.30am.

A woman was killed today when the forklift truck she was driving overturned.

The incident occurred at a unit in the Ward Industrial Park, North Road, Finglas at about 9.30am.

It is understood the woman (27) had been driving a forklift loaded with scaffolding. She had been rounding a corner when the vehicle tipped over, trapping her inside.

Emergency services were contacted but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Details of the incident have yet to be confirmed but a preliminary investigation found she had been killed after the forklift overturned.

Gardaí were called to the scene which was cordoned off for a technical examination.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA), which investigates all workplace accidents as a matter of policy, was also contacted and is currently reviewing the incident.
