Gardaí are appealing for information after two people were tied up and a sum of cash stolen during a burglary in north Dublin yesterday.

Two men entered a house on the Old Cabra Road around 3.10am. The three adults and two young children in the house were threatened with violence, and two of the adults had their hands tied together with cable ties.

No one was injured but a sum of cash was taken.

Gardaí at Bridewell are asking any members of the public who were in the area of the old JJ Reid garage on the Old Cabra Road, or between the Topaz garage and Cabra Cross on the New Cabra Road, between 2.30am and 4.30am to contact them if they saw any unusual or suspicious activity.

One of the culprits is between 5ft 8 inches and 5ft 10 inches in height, of thin build, wearing a black woolly hat, a navy jacket and khaki combat trousers.

The second man is around 5ft 11 inches, of larger build, wearing a black woolly hat and navy combat trousers. Both men have Dublin accents.
