Two people have been injured in a hit-and-run incident in Carlow yesterday evening.

The incident happened on a local road in the Urglin Rutland area of Carlow Town.

A man (59) was seriously injured in the collision and a 23-year-old woman suffered minor injuries.

They have been taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny for treatment.
