Two men to appear before court in connection with Tullow death

Two men are to appear in court tomorrow morning charged in connection with the killing of a man in Tullow, Co Carlow.

The body of a 41-year-old Latvian man, named locally as Gints Intembergs, was discovered in the kitchen of a house on Tuesday.

Mr Intembergs was well known in the Latvian community in the Carlow area and had been living in Ireland for about eight years.

A second man, also thought to be Latvian, was discovered nearby with serious injuries. He was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny.

The two men – one in his early thirties and one in his early fifties – were arrested by gardaí in Tullow later on Tuesday and were tonight charged in connection with the death. Both men will appear before Carlow District Court tomorrow morning at 10.30 am.

Gardaí have appealing for any residents or visitors to Graigowen, Gortnahowen or Slaney View Drive housing estates in Tullow, and who may have heard or seen anything between 6pm on Monday and 9am on Tuesday to contact them at Tullow garda station on 059-9181160, the Garda Confidential Line on 1-800-666-111 or any garda station.
