Victim being treated in hospital after suffering non-life threatening injuries

Two men have been arrested after the shooting of another man in a supermarket car park in north Dublin.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries when a gunman opened fire in the carpark on St Margaret's Road, Finglas, Dublin 11 on Friday afternoon.

It is understood the victim, who is aged in his 20s and is from Co Louth, was shot in the lower leg. He is currently being treated in hospital.

Gardaí preserved the scene for technical examination which has now concluded.

Two men, both aged in their 20s, were arrested in relation to the incident and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Finglas Garda station.

Gardaí said they were appealing “for anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward”.

They are particularly keen for anyone with camera footage to come forward.
