A 27-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been charged with assault of a man in the early hours of Saturday morning in Ranelagh in Dublin.

The incident happened at the junction of Charleston Road and Oakley Road at about 5.30am. The 32-year-old victim suffered injuries and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he was later released.

The man and woman were arrested a short distance from the scene and will appear in court tomorrow morning.
