Swords murder: Gardaí appeal for taxi drivers to come forward

Renewed call made for witnesses on night of Dermot Byrne’s death in north Dublin

Gardaí investigating the murder of Dermot Byrne in Swords, Co Dublin have made a renewed appeal for information.

They particulary want to speak to two separate taxi drivers.

One taxi picked up a fare at Swords Manor at approximately 00:50hrs on the morning of the July 16th, the fare included two men and two women , they were dropped on North Street Swords a short time later. One of the male passengers was carrying a large dark coloured sports bag.

The second taxi picked up a male passenger on Main Street Swords approximately two hours later at 2.55am. This man was in possession of a large coloured sports bag.

Gardaí would also like to speak to three men who were walking from North Street towards Main Street at 2.50am.
