Shots fired at houses in Dublin and Dundalk

Gardaí investigating both incidents but no injuries have been reported

Gardaí are investigating reports of shots being fired at a house in West Dublin and also at a home in Dundalk.

The shots were fired at a house in the Whitechapel Road area of Clonsilla in Dublin at 11.45am on Monday.

Nobody was injured.

Gardaí later searched a house in Waterville Terrace where a man in his 30s was arrested in relation to the incident and taken to Blanchardstown garda station for questioning.

Sarches are ongoing, gardaí said.

In a separate incident two shots were fired through the front window of a house in Dundalk, Co Louth on Sunday night.

Gardaí in Dundalk say the shooting happened at approximately 11.40pm at Rockfield Manor, Hoeys Lane.

None of the occupants of the house were injured but the front window was shattered.

The scene is currently preserved pending a garda technical examination.
