Gardaí release four suspects without charge and prepare file for DPP

One man remains in Garda custody over the murder of Mark Desmond in Dublin last year.

Desmond, a drug dealer and enforcer, was shot dead on December 2nd, 2016, in a park in Lucan. Gardaí arrested five people in West Dublin this week in connection with the killing.

The arrests were made after an operation in Clondalkin and Lucan involving the local detective unit, Regional Armed Support Unit and other local units, according to gardaí.

Last night officers released three men and a woman without charge and said that a file will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Desmond (41) died from multiple gunshot wounds after been attacked in Griffeen Valley Park in Lucan.
