A man in his 30s was shot in an estate in west Dublin this morning.

It is understood the man suffered gunshot injuries to his upper body at Beechfield Rise shortly after 10am.

He was brought to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he is described as being in a stable condition.

T he scene has been sealed off for technical examination.

Gardai are also investigating whether a burned out Ford Galaxy found in Phibblestown Wood, Clonsilla, this morning was used as a getaway car.
