A man is in hospital in Drogheda following a shooting incident at a house in Slane, Co Meath last night. A 39-year-old man was shot a number of times in the upper body and leg after he opened his front door at around 9. 45pm at Dowth in Slane.
Emergency services rushed the injured man to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The scene of the shooting is currently being preserved by gardaí pending a technical examination.
