Man hospitalised after Dublin shooting

A man is in hospital tonight after he was the victim of a gun attack in West Dublin.

Darren Whelan (26) was shot in the back on Lally Road, Ballyfermot. An ambulance attended the scene and Mr Whelan was brought to St James' Hospital.

He is expected to survive the attack and gardaí said he was in a stable condition in hospital.
