Man dies following stabbing at Ballyfermot rave event

Victim assaulted in west Dublin industrial unit where dance was taking place

A man in his twenties died in the early hours of Sunday morning after he was stabbed in west Dublin.

The incident occurred at an industrial unit in O'Casey Avenue, Parkwest industrial estate in Ballyfermot. It is believed there was a rave taking place on the premises at the time.

When gardaí were called to the scene at approximately 4am they discovered the seriously injured man, identified locally as James Griffin (26), from Ballyfermot. It is understood there were still people arriving at the event at that time.

The injured man was taken to Tallaght hospital by ambulance where he was later pronounced dead.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the State Pathologist’s office notified.
