Man arrested over murder of Dean Fitzpatrick

Suspect held at Dublin Garda station in investigation into fatal stabbing in May

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Dean Fitzpatrick in Coolock, Dublin last May.

Gardaí arrested the man at about 9.30am this morning in the Coolock area.

He is in his early 40s and he is being detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Originally from Donaghmede, Mr Fitzpatrick was fatally stabbed during a scuffle in an apartment at Northern Cross, Malahide Road, shortly before 11.30pm on May 25th.

He was a brother of Amy Fitzpatrick, who was aged 15 when she went missing in Spain in 2008.
