A man has been arrested in relation to a hit-and-run in Dublin yesterday which left another man seriously ill in hospital.

The incident occurred on Trinity Lane, to the rear of Clonliffe Road, in Drumcondra at around 1pm yesterday.

The injured man (34) was taken to the Mater hospital.

Gardaí later found a burnt-out car, which they believe may have been involved in the incident, on Stoney Road in the East Wall area of the city.

A man in his mid 30s was arrested at about midday today and is being held at Mountjoy Garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The injured man remains in a serious condition.
