Man (30) arrested in connection with Gareth Hutch murder

Suspect is the third person to be arrested after latest murder in Kinahan-Hutch feud

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Gareth Hutch on May 24th.

The man was arrested on Saturday morning and is being detained at a Dublin city centre station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 1997.

Mr Hutch (35), a nephew of Gerry "the Monk" Hutch, was shot dead as he got into his car at Avondale House flats, North Cumberland Street, Dublin 1 on May 24th.

He was the seventh fatality linked to a feud between the rival Kinahan and Hutch gangs.

Two people have previously been detained in connection with his murder.

Thomas Fox, of Rutland Court, Dublin 1, is charged with unlawful possession of a Makarov 9mm handgun at Avondale House on May 23rd.

He was remanded in custody to appear in court again on June 22nd.

Mary McDonnell (43) with an address at Avondale House, North Cumberland Street has also been charged and is accused of withholding information from gardaí investigating the killing.

She was further remanded in custody to appear in court again next week.
