A man has been arrested after gardaí seized more than €400,000 worth of drugs during a car search in south Dublin on Thursday.

A vehicle was stopped and searched at Citywest Avenue in Citywest Business Park during a joint operation between the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Revenue.

More than 20kg of cannabis was found and a 55-year-old man was arrested. He is in custody at Clondalkin Garda Station under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act).

A garda spokesman said the seizure is part of an wider operation to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks.
