Gardaí renew appeal for Ciara Breen missing since 1997

Two witnesses have recently come forward with information in search for teenager

Gardaí in Louth have renewed an appeal for information on the case of a teenager who went missing 17 years ago after two potential witnesses came forward in recent weeks.

Ciara Breen, who was 17 years old when she was reported missing in the early hours of Thursday February 13th 1997.

She was last seen in her home at Bachelors Walk, Dundalk, but went missing between 12 midnight and 2am.

When last seen she was wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans, wine coloured sweatshirt and a white t-shirt with an image of her own face on same and a black leather wrist watch with a square face and green background.

She is described as being of slim build, sallow complexion, long dark hair and blue eyes and gardaí have released both an original photograph of Ms Breen as well as an age progression photo. She would be 35 today.

Investigating gardaí were in contact with two potential witnesses in recent weeks who they say have been of great assistance in the investigation.
