An alleged sexual assault in the Ballinode area of Sligo is under investigation.
It is understood one area sealed off as part of the inquiry was a student accommodation block close to IT Sligo.
In a statement, gardaí said the alleged incident had occurred overnight on Wednesday.
“An investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made and no further information is available at this time,” a spokesman said.

Separately, gardaí are also investigating a number of other sexual assaults alleged to have occurred in Sligo town last Saturday.
