Three men treated in hospital after incident in Kilmallock

A man has been arrested after three young men sustained apparent stab wounds in a pub in Co Limerick on Sunday night.

Shortly after 8pm gardaí­ at Bruff responded to an incident in a pub on Wolfe Tone Street, Kilmallock "where three men had sustained apparent stab wounds during an altercation", gardai said.

“The three (all in their 30s) were taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment. Their injuries are described as non life-threatening.”

“A 24-year-old man was arrested a short time later and is currently detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Bruff Garda station.”

“A knife was recovered by investigating gardaí and an examination of the crime scene has been carried out,” gardaí added. “The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Bruff Garda station 061-382940 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.”
