Gardaí appeal for witnesses to serious assault in Limerick

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man in his late 30s was seriously assaulted in Limerick in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at Monabraher Road, Ballynanty. The man was discovered nearby on the footpath at Cosgrave Park, Moyross with serious injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to Limerick University Hospital where his condition is currently understood to be serious but stable.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information who was on Monabraher Road or Cosgrave Park between 3.15am and 4am on Sunday morning to come forward.
