Gardaí in Co Louth are appealing for information after an armed robbery at an arcade in Drogheda’s main shopping area on Friday night.

At about 9.45pm, a lone male entered the premises armed with an imitation firearm, a Garda spokesman said.

“He threatened staff and left the scene on a bicycle with an undisclosed sum of cash,” he added.

No one was injured in the incident. A technical examination of the scene will take place on Sunday.

Gardaí described the man as about 168cm (5ft 6in).

He wore a black hoody, a black scarf covering his face, black jeans, and black shoes. He is thought to have spoken in a local accent, the Garda spokesman said.
