Dead kayaker found on Isle of Wight named as Dublin man

British police have named the man whose body was found in a kayak on the Isle of Wight last month.

Morgan Savage (40), from Dublin, was found in a kayak on Yaverland Beach, Sandown, on the Isle of Wight on September 11th.

He had last been seen at Brighton canoes in Newhaven, Sussex, on September 8th.

A postmortem into Mr Savage’s death was inconclusive. The coroner is awaiting results of body tissue examination.

Mr Savage had rented a yellow and black inflatable kayak three days before his body was discovered.

The coast off Newhaven and Brighton - about 60 miles east of the Isle of Wight - is popular with canoeists and kayakers.

British police had renewed their appeal for help in identifying the dead man last week.
