Cyclist attacked by occupants of car which collided with him

Injured man (39) taken to Beaumont Hospital after incident in north Dublin

A cyclist has been attacked by the occupants of a vehicle which collided with him in north Dublin.

Gardaí are investigating the incident which occurred at around 10.30am on Saturday when the male cyclist (39) was cycling on Swans Nest Road, Kilbarrack, Dublin 5.

A car, described as a black saloon collided with him, gardaí said. A number of men then got out of the car and assaulted the injured man with weapons before fleeing the scene in the car.

The injured man was taken to Beaumont Hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Any drivers of vehicles or cyclists with dash cam footage who were in the Kilbarrack area at this time have been asked to check their dash cam footage and contact Raheny garda station.
