A Dublin man charged with possessing 150 kg of explosives has been released on bail by the Special Criminal Court.
John Roche (53), with an address at Bridgefoot Street, Dublin 8, is charged with possession of 57kg of homemade explosives, consisting of ammonium nitrate fuel mix, and 38 2.5kg rolls of Kemegel industrial explosives at Naas Road, Dublin 12, on April 13th, 2016.
He is also charged with membership of an unlawful organization, styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Oglaigh na hEireann, otherwise the IRA, on the same date.
The State consented to Mr Roche's bail application, prosecution counsel Vincent Heneghan BL told the three-judge court.
Mr Roche was released on his own bond of €1,000 and an independent surety of €20,000.
The conditions of his bail are that he must surrender his passport and not apply for travel documents, sign on daily at Kilmainham Garda station, obey a daily curfew between 11pm and 7am, not leave the jurisdiction or travel to Northern Ireland, not associate with anybody charged or convicted of a scheduled offence, not contact proposed prosecution witnesses and provide a phone number to gardaí.
