Police in Davidson County, North Carolina have released the audio of a 911 call made by Jason Corbett's father-in-law on the night of his death.

Police in Davidson County, North Carolina have released the audio of a 911 call made by Irishman Jason Corbett’s father-in-law on the night of Jason’s death.

Mr Corbett's former wife Molly Martens and father-in-law Thomas Martens are on trial for Mr Corbett's murder.

Below is the full transcript of the call Thomas Martens made to 911.

Thomas Martens: My daughter's husband, um, my son in law, um, got in a fight with my daughter. I intervened and I think he's in bad shape. We need help.

911 Operator: OK, what do you mean he's in bad shape? He's hurt?

TM: He's bleeding all over and I may have killed him. I hit him in the head.

911: With what?

TM: With a baseball bat

911: With a baseball bat?

TM: Yes ma'am. He was choking my daughter, he said: 'I'm gonna kill her'.

For several minutes, Molly Martens Corbett and Thomas Martens administer chest compressions in an attempt to revive Jason Corbett before paramedics arrive.

TM: OK, it looks like I've got lights here.

911: OK, just keep, just keep going, don't stop.

TM: She's, she's going.

911: Alright, sir?

TM: Yes?

911: Alright, take your daughter and back away and let them do their job.

TM: [To Molly Martens] Let them do their job.

911: Try and keep her calm, OK?

TM: OK.

911: Y'all did a good job.

TM: Molly, Molly, let them do their, um, let them do their job.

911: OK, are you ok? As much as possible, I understand. I understand, um, understand - as much as possible, are you OK?

TM: Yeah, I'm OK.

911: OK.
